Newspaper: The Disease that is spreading with dogs?!
I read in the newspaper a couple of days ago that there is an unknown disease spreading through Ohio that is killing dogs! They are saying that you shouldn't take your dogs to dog parks or let them interact with other dogs. This makes me scared for my dog! I wouldn't know what to do without him. I wonder if they will figure out what the disease is soon? How many more dogs are going to die? Will it spread to other states?

DeleteWow! This is very scary considering that I have two dogs of my own. I wonder what has caused this disease and how it is spread? Is it an airborne disease, etc.? How will the disease be treated? Also, I wonder what kinds of side effects will be present among dogs that will make the disease easy to diagnose, or are there any symptoms at all?
ReplyDeleteThe doctors are looking into it but so far they know nothing about the disease. They haven' ever seen anything like this before.
DeleteThis sounds scary! Do you know how long it has been going around? Is there any treatment? Or do doctors even know what it really is/called?

ReplyDeleteSo far they have only heard of it in Ohio. I have no idea how long it will last but I hope it goes away fast because I love my dog a lot. I think they will take dogs that have died, if their owner permits it, and test them to see what happened and maybe how they can stop it from spreading. But as of now I think they will just tell people to keep their dogs away from other dogs and away from dog parks.
DeleteI also heard of this. It sounds pretty bad but if you keeps your dog away from other dogs for awhile then he/she will be okay. Do you know if there is a cure yet? Also, are there symptoms so that you will know if your down is getting it? I would want to know right away so I could get my dog to a vet, that would be scary! I hope this goes away or they find a cure soon!
ReplyDeleteThere is no cure as of today. No one knows anything about it so I assume they don't know what the symptoms are either. I hope that it goes away soon also because it is scary.
DeleteIs it an airborne disease? What does the disease affect in the dog that kills it? Do you know anyone whose dog has died from this disease?
ReplyDeleteSadly no one knows anything about this disease. They only know that the dogs that came in contact with the dogs that have the disease died. So far i haven't heard anything else about dead dogs but I haven't looked it up.
